Five days from now I'll be suckin down protein shakes rather than food. So the next four, I will be enjoying alcohol, meat, bread and all that will be winding down in my life for a while.Yes, I know, not everything is off limits completely and forever. I do however know that I need to back off from them, and may have some difficulty with these things for a while. So... Tonight I'm gonna party like it's 1999! I'm going out for dinner with a few friends to have some meat, bread and booze! Sort of a last hoorah!
I went window shopping yesterday at the supermarket to see what kind of things I could buy for food to keep in the house, in the car and at work. I don't have a typical lifestyle of going home after work to make dinner, etc. I am single, I work full time, I go to school and have a pretty active social life which in turn means that I rarely cook at home. Most meals are at a restaurant and include a glass of wine or a cocktail. I am shifting away from that and looking for high protein foods, low in sugar and fat. I'm looking at buying foods that I can keep at my desk for lunch. It was kind of fun to walk around and to look for the things that I'll start with. One thing this ordeal made me realize, is just how much money I'll save on going out for dinner! A meal now might only cost me a couple bucks where as dinner typically can run me $20-40 when I'm out! Hello new wardrobe!!
